Roland Boutique JU-06 Sound Demo

I recorded this short demo with my new Roland JU-06 synth.. I haven't played a real Juno-106, so I can't really say how close this one gets soundwise. But who cares, it sounds pretty amazing!

Still here..

As you might have noticed I haven't updated my blog for quite some time. Don't worry, I'm still here and there's plenty of new interesting stuff coming up. I've just been way too busy for the last three months or so..

We bought an apartment in May and I've been doing a lot of renovating work during the summer. I had no idea how much time it will take to get everything done and basically I just haven't had any spare time to do music, build pedals or update my blog. But things are looking much better (the apartment looks amazing!) and I'm gonna get up to speed in few weeks. I'm also doing a big update on my home studio: plenty of new gear, setting the acoustics just right, building an isolation speaker cabinet etc. If you're interested about DIY acoustic panels and/or DIY isolation cabinets, stay tuned!

Yamaha DX7 synthesizer sound demo & pictures

Lately I've been getting into synths and here's my latest purchase: a Yamaha DX7 from the golden 80's. This particular unit is in really good condition. Few minor scratches here and there, one key has a slightly louder mechanical release noise, but nothing serious. It plays really well and needless to say, sounds amazing. Play a note, add some modulation = instant gratification. This synth is full of lush 80's sounds that take me immediately back to my childhood.. I love this synth!

Wanna know what it sounds like? Here's a short tune showcasing few factory patches. Sounds amazing! :)

Elektron Analog Four & Pigtronix Infinity Looper MIDI synced

I got an Elektron Analog Four synth few weeks back and I've been practicing with it pretty much every day. It's packed with features and has a pretty steep learning curve, but I'm getting there. Luckily the user interface is well designed and it's intuitive to use. Earlier today I synced the Analog Four with my Pigtronix Infinity Looper and recorded this short clip with my phone:

Live looping sketch #10 - "There's Day and Night, Summer and Winter"

It took some time, but here's a brand new tune! I recorded this song last week but the video footage in the end was shot last summer. Beautiful place, good times.. We went swimming there almost every morning.

Interesting video about D/A and A/D - "a digital waveform is not a stairstep"

Here's a video that is really worth watching! Christopher "Monty" Montgomery talks about "stairsteps", bit-depth and dither.

I got a new release coming up..

It's been quiet lately, but don't worry! I've been recording some songs and I'm making a new release in about a month or so. I'm obviously biased about this matter but these new songs sound pretty amazing.. :) I'm also adding my music catalog to Spotify, iTunes, Google Play etc. I'll let you know when things move forward!
